Superintendent Dr. David J. Peterson's October Letter

Dear Scottsdale Unified School District Family,

Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) is truly fortunate to have outstanding students, teachers and support staff as well as specialized programs that make us stand out across Arizona and the nation. It is only the end of the first quarter, and our students and teachers have already accomplished so much! See the October Letter.

Eldorado Park Track Meet
  Additional Cross Country Meet:
  • Wednesday, October 22, following the high school city championships.
  • Start time: 5:15 p.m.  All boys and girls will compete at the same time.
  • Location: Eldorado Park, Miller Road and Oak Street.  Starting line is on the west side of the park between the Boys & Girls Club and the pool.  Finish line is on the east side of the park, next to the basketball park (approximately even with Oak Street).
  • Distance: 1.75 miles.  Course map of the high school course is attached.  Middle school will run one large loop (not two) and then the small "horseshoe" to the finish line.
  • Parking:  DO NOT park in the pool parking lot at Miller & Oak, and DO NOT park in the softball field parking lot further south on Miller.  Instead, park on the east side of the course (easiest to approach from Hayden Road and Oak Street).  Please bear in mind that the high school races will be going on prior to the middle school race, so spectators need to watch the race course.
  • Team camps:  Ramadas will be taken by the high school teams, so bring pop-up tents.  Teams will not be allowed to set up on the softball fields, the football field, or on the race course.
  • Entries:  Due by Monday, October 20 at 6:00 p.m.  If an athlete is not entered, he/she will NOT be added later.  This meet is being administered by the high school coaches, who will be busy with their own teams on race day.
